Hello! I’m Chef Blake, a passionate private chef with over a decade of hospitality experience.
My journey began at a bustling pub on the Mornington Peninsula when I was just 17. It was there that I had
my first taste of the culinary world, seeing the craziness of the kitchen ignited an instant love for cooking.
My passion for great food led me to embark on an apprenticeship as a chef when I was 21, and by 23, I was
proud to become the head chef at the same pub where I’d begun. For seven years, I led a
dynamic kitchen, known for its innovative menu changes, and helped establish the pub as a local foodie hotspot.
I then took on the Head Chef role at an Italian restaurant on the Mornington Peninsula where I refined my
knowledge of Italian food (including pizza) and deepened my understanding of dough and the fermentation
processes. I then moved on to a restaurant in Richmond, where the ever-evolving menu kept me learning daily,
allowing me to continually master new recipes and refined cooking methods.
Over years of cooking I have formed a deep love and appreciation for Japanese, Italian, Spanish, and
Middle Eastern cooking. As a result, these are the cuisines that inspire my menus and I try to showcase different
flavour profiles from each.
My travels have taken me around the globe, where I’ve sought out the best restaurant experiences to
understand the unique interpretations of meals across different cultures. This relentless pursuit of knowledge
fuels my creativity in the kitchen, where I’m constantly experimenting with new techniques and ingredients.
